Ask Congress to Support Critical STEM Education Programs at ED, IMLS, NASA, NIH, NOAA, AND NSF

. . . . but, first a quick, one-question poll. . .

. . . . Great! Thanks! Now back to our article. . .

The President’s FY 2017 budget request once again proposes the elimination of NASA’s Competitive Program for Science Museums, Planetariums, and NASA Visitor Centers Plus Other Opportunities and NOAA’s Environmental Literacy Grants/Competitive Education Grants and Bay-Watershed Education and Training Regional Programs.

Over the past three years, ASTC members have been extremely helpful with the (successful!) effort to retain funding for these critical grant programs, along with those offered by the Department of Education, IMLS, NIH, and NSF.

With legislators finalizing their list of funding priorities and Appropriations Committees beginning their work on annual spending bills, this is the Ideal time for the field to reach out to Members of Congress!

Please contact your U.S. Senators and Representatives TODAY to express your concerns about the proposed cuts and the importance of continued funding for programs that benefit science centers and museums and the communities they serve!
